Country Music is COOL… What a lovely evening of television, music and talent.
I’ve not taken time out to watch an awards show in a very long time, but this evening I had the time and I took it.
Watching the CMA’s was a treat. What a talented group of adults. INCREDIBLE. And country has become cool, HOW COOL!
I must say… they are a bunch of beautiful folks and they are so very talented and they’ve incorporated musical talent that spans across genres.
Taylor Swift was adorable singing Ours. Sugarland & Matt Nathanson were incredible singing Run. Lady Antebellum did a beautiful job singing We Owned the Night. Kenny Chesney & Grace Potter were delightful. Luke Bryant sang Country Girl. Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood sang their duet Remind Me. Faith Hill sang after 5 years. Martina McBride sang for Cancer.
Blake Shelton took home male vocalist of the year. His wife Miranda Lambert won female vocalist of the year. Sugarland won, so did The Band Perry. And the Entertainer of the Year award went to… Taylor Swift (the ONLY female in the category).
Lionel Richie, Kenny Loggins, Grace Potter, Natasha Bedingfield & Matt Nathanson all stepped into country music for the night too…
This is why I love country music… It’s cool. It’s not gender or age specific. It covers many genres. It speaks to emotions we all know though we may not all visit. It focuses on what matters. It has class and wit. Performances are amazing. It’s cool.
