Smiles for Nevaeh

March 4, 2013

In an effort to support childhood cancer, Rebekah Steen of Goldfish Kiss has requested that this message get passed along, it is a blog post she recently wrote. Please help…

Goldfish Kiss (blog)
Rebekah Steen (writer extraordinaire)

Over the past year and a half, I’ve noticed a difference. I’ve been complaing less, forgiving more, not worrying as much, and being a little bit more grateful for each day. It’s probably because of a little gal named Nevaeh.

Nevaeh is heaven spelled backwards, and this l’il gal is definitely an angel… who happens to love dolphins, is convinced she is a mermaid, and has more courage and love for life than any kid I’ve ever encountered.

She also is battling brain cancer for the second time, and is the 5 year old daughter of one of my close friends.

This post has been in the works for a while, but I couldn’t think of the right things to say, and wasn’t sure of the best time to do it. But finally I said, no more excuses. Time to help out my friend.

Here’s how.

1: Please visit giveforward.com/smilesfornevaeh to read her story and share the link
Then…instead of grabbing that latte, drink or snack, send Nevaeh that $5. If all the followers of this blog do this, we can reach the fundraiser goal.
2: The one thing that REALLY cheers her up is getting mail (especially things she can deliver to kids in the hospital when she has to go in for treatments. Yep. She is one cool kid). Email me and I can send you her address.
3: Reblog this post, share the fundraiser page, or do something to help out or raise funds for Kids cancer research. These kiddos need it.
4: Her next scans are March 5th, so say a little prayer that they come back clear.

A HUGE thanks to Mikoh, L*Space and Letarte who really made Nevaeh (and her mom) smile and look stylish for their Make A Wish trip. Proof Bikinis really can brighten anyone’s day.

Oh I am loving this shout out to this family. I would like to pass it on too. They look beautiful in their bikini's.
