Hello blank canvas!
Last Monday we got the keys. By Wednesday we had decorated the guest bathroom. On Friday we had a security system installed. And Saturday was the first party in our new abode.
We now have a blank canvas to run with. A blank canvas to create “our” home in “our” style. Our style is a mish mash of sports and music paraphernalia as well as vintage looks with metal and wood and classic touches with photographs, throws and textures. It’s quite the mish mash and if done right will be amazing.

The blank canvas we are blessed to own is mid-century modern in structure and bones. Clean lines, neutral colors, modern fixtures and a beauty to decorate. The neutral pallet is everything I wanted in a house right now. I wanted the ability to buy neutral furniture and play up colors and color accents with accessories. Allowing the home to remain neutral more often than not and take on character with simple modifications based on throws, pillows, frames, books on shelves and vases.

This house is smaller in nature and limited in space, but what we do have is simply perfect. The living space is made up of one great room; the family room region, an area for a sitting room and a dining space. The kitchen is beautiful with white cabinetry, grey subway tiles and a thick quartz countertop in neutral color swirls. The gas range is stunning and the basin kitchen sink is lovely. It is the perfect space for entertaining. Open and spacious and yet inviting and cozy.

Each bedroom is a small and versatile space. Two of our little ladies will be sharing a space and we have determined a theme – travel. Our middle girl will be in a room all her own decorated in a grown-up Disney theme. The Mr and I have a smaller space and we have decided to keep clean lines and cozy materials. Both bathrooms have the same beautiful quartz countertops with white cabinetry and grey shower stalls. I love how clean every nook and cranny is within this house. Perfect to ensure a home that we can make our own.

The backyard is simple to explain… Grand space. Great opportunity. There is so much opportunity to create a backyard oasis with this space. The planter boxes that line the back wall, the grassy playground, the brick platform and the pool. Our imaginations are running wild and we will make this backyard an outdoor living space. One we may never want to leave.
Home is where we hang our hats. And for us, a welcoming home that displays our personalities and remains inviting to our friends and family is important. A place in which we relax into everyday living and settle into the comfort of home.
