Good ‘Ol Gap – Thank You

January 12, 2011

THANK. YOU. GAP.
You have restored my faith in denim. I admittedly HATE shopping for, trying on and buying jeans. I hate the process. Understanding what is hip right now, what truly fits well, what looks best for my body type… it is an overwhelming process that I’d prefer to avoid at all costs.
As of late I have been watching “What Not To Wear” again (this is a show i flip-flop between enjoying and being annoyed by) and I find their tips to be helpful. Specifically their tip in regard to denim… I like the idea that no pair fits perfectly and that alterations are the key to finding the perfect fit. I am a fan of this as my tush is ample compared to my waist, my legs are long and I don’t quite have a torso. I have hips, but where I may appear wide, I am flat from the side view. So you see, my model is not quite a 4 regular.
I appreciate that Gap tries to maintain the classics while also supplying the shopping population with the hippest and latest trends. This allows me a moment of adventure in the poorly lit dressing room to realize classic cuts and fits better suit me. However, in that moment I live the dream of being hip, if only for 1 minute.
Thank you Gap… I love your jeans.

BOTH of those jeans in your picture are GREAT.

    (Oh, how I can't wait to wear non-maternity jeans…)
