You guys…. This year could chalk up to be one incredible year of travel for me. Sure some travel is business and not pleasure, but folks, the locations are insane.
My parents have always known this little secret about me, I am filled with wanderlust. My Mr quickly learned this secret about me too. Travel may be my ultimate passion. It doesn’t really matter the reason for travel, business or pleasure, it is all about the adventure that happens. Exploring new locations, trying different food, seeing what other peoples everyday looks like. And this year, this year I am so excited as my calendar is booking up and the itinerary is incredible.
I can hardly keep my feet on the ground. In the next two months I will be traveling to New York and Boston on a little weekend getaway with my Mr. To Paris and Madrid on an epic Christmas gift adventure. To New Orleans for a tradeshow. I can’t even comprehend the copious amounts of delicious food I will be indulging in.
This summer we will be taking a family road trip to California to celebrate Doodle’s 5th birthday at Disneyland. Take a moment, let that soak in, Doodle’s 5th birthday… Where does the time go? This trip will be special as the invitee list is everyone she loves – Me, Mr, her sissies, Daddy, bonus mom, her brother, grams and gramps. I also find this trip to be a beautiful expression of what love really looks like. And my mind is racing with all the ways we can make this a magical road trip. Then the Mr and I will inevitably plan an escape to somewhere tropical. I have promised him and it is his turn to take a trip that fills his cup.
In the fall I get to trek over the Denver for another tradeshow and really the only thing that matters is eating at Earls every single meal I can. Bottom line. No questions asked. If I can eat there for every meal, I am going to. Parm Dip, Shrimp Pesto Pizza, Cajun Chicken, Earls Bigger Better Burger, Dynamite Shrimp Rolls, Leroy’s Crispy Dry Ribs, Cajun Chicken Cheddar Sandwich, Santa Fe Chicken Salad, Clam Chowder, Caesar Salad with Cajun Chicken, Hunan Kung Poa with 5 peppers, Jeera Chicken Curry… The names on the menu have changed, I am certain of that, but I am digging in.
Though winter is not planned, nor should it be, I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get to fulfill another one of our simple pleasures as a couple and enjoy a ski trip. Maybe a winery visit. Who knows where else we may land this year, all I know is that this life is blessed and my wanderlust cup just filled a bit more.
I am utterly flabbergasted by the exciting adventures that you'll be taking! And I'm equally impressed by your ability to have PLANNED this far in advance. (Man, I need to improve upon that…)
I have a friend who says that life is about memories, not stuff. She's right. And you're making those memories.
And I got the CHILLS when I read this: "This trip will be special as the invitee list is everyone she loves – Me, Mr, her sissies, Daddy, bonus mom, her brother, grams and gramps. I also find this trip to be a beautiful expression of what love really looks like."
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME.
xoxoxox Thank you Ky… There is nothing that makes my heart swell more than showing Doodle what love really looks like and I am so proud of T and I, in that we found the friendship that was the foundation of our relationship. We will never be as close as we once were, but we definitely found the good in one another again. I am so blessed to be able to provide Doodle as normal a life as possible in this whacky world we have created for her.
And we are a bit crazy when it comes to creating memories. I think travel and food are J's and my two great loves (beyond one another and our girls) 🙂
