Breathe. Dream. Repeat.
Breathe. Dream. Repeat.
Have you ever been somewhere, somewhere in the world that sets your soul on fire and lets your heart rest at peace? A place that opens up your imagination to your wildest dreams? A place that even when everything isn’t 100%, you are able to sink into the moment and feel complete happiness?
I have.
My heart was completely at peace. My mind was completely quiet. I found my happy place. Simple as that.
A beach house facing the crashing waves of the ocean, a balcony overlooking the ocean, a wall of windows thrown open, curtains blowing in the breeze, a good book, coffee, my feet propped up and my husband by my side. That my friends is my utopia.
A few weeks ago the Mr and I traveled to Big Sur, Monterey and Carmel. In Big Sur we walked through the sand of Pfeiffer Beach, enjoyed the best chorizo burrito at Fernwood Resort, hiked the roads leading into Ventana Resort, enjoyed the views at McWay Waterfall Trail, hiked the 5 mile route through Ewoldsen Trail in Julia Pfeiffer State Park, laid in a hammock beneath the stars, enjoyed morning Yoga, relaxed in the cozy room at Ventana Resort, soaked by the pool, hung out at the spa and simply slowed down while taking in nature. Then we traveled to Carmel where we enjoyed the 17 Mile drive through Pebble Beach to Monterey, explored the Monterey Bay Aquarium, popped in and out of shops on Cannery Row. Back in Carmel we staid at the most charming bed and breakfast – Happy Landing Inn, walked the charming streets of Downtown Carmel, dug our toes into the sand on Carmel Beach, bought souvenirs at Laub’s Country Store, walked trails through Point Lobos State Reserve and relaxed into beach town living.
It was magical. I was at peace and in heaven. Carmel stole my heart immediately. I am certain and know without a doubt, my future dream home will be nestled in a cozy town, overlooking water, with a wall of windows. We will have a charming little beach house to escape to, where breezes will blow, cool weather will welcome flannels and cuddles. Fresh air will fill our lungs while coffee flows.
